Creating a Root Tenant Account
This topic describes how to set up a root tenant account, also known as a partner account.
Root tenant overview
A root tenant account centralizes the control and management of multiple organizations through the Megaport ONE Portal. Root tenant administrators can view top-level data for their end customers and provision and manage services for any organization they administer.
Note
Megaport ONE is not currently offered for Distributors.
Root tenants are created:
- After all legal terms and conditions are approved.
- Using an existing Vantage Transact account.
Request a root tenant account
Contact your Megaport ONE sales team to create a root tenant account and configure settings corresponding to that account. For a list of settings, see Feature access and views by account type.
After the root tenant is created, Megaport ONE sends an email with the Megaport ONE Portal account details to the user assigned the Company Admin role.
Getting started
Megaport ONE sets up the root tenant, or partner, account. The root tenant designates a primary user and assigns them the Company Admin role. The Company Admin receives an automatically generated email with their login credentials and a reminder to change their password.
After your root tenant account has been created and you’ve received your login credentials, you must log in to the account, create a company profile, and set up billing markets. For details, see Adding a Company Profile and Enabling Billing Markets. Your root tenant was registered when Megaport created it.
When logged into a root tenant account, the Megaport ONE Portal displays your company name in the upper-left corner. The top of the screen displays a message that you are viewing the system as a root tenant. The number of child tenants, also known as subtenant accounts, appears in the dashboard.
Tip
To enable all data center locations, set up all billing markets.
Verifying your company and company admin details
Before setting up child tenant accounts, make sure that all of your details are correct in the root tenant account.
To verify root tenant details
- Log in to your root tenant account, select your user name > My Account, and verify the details.
For details on setting up a child tenant account, see Creating a Child Tenant Account.
